Op 8 oktober 1967 stierf Ernesto Che Guevara in de strijd; vandaag brengen we hulde aan het voorbeeld van zijn leven als revolutionair en internationalist.

In de historische toespraak van Che Guevara voor de VN op 11 december 1964 gaf Che lessen over soevereiniteit, anti-imperialisme, anti-kolonialisme en het vreedzaam samenleven van volkeren. 

Hieronder staan 10 zinnen die de geldigheid van de erfenis van Che’s ideeën weergeven:

1. “Het laatste uur van het kolonialisme heeft al geklonken en miljoenen inwoners van Afrika, Azië en Latijns-Amerika staan op om een nieuw leven tegemoet te treden en hun onbeperkt recht op zelfbeschikking en onafhankelijke ontwikkeling van hun naties op te leggen.

2. “Alle staten moeten vreedzaam naast elkaar kunnen bestaan, ongeacht hun omvang, de historische betrekkingen die hen in het verleden met elkaar hebben verbonden en de problemen die zich op een bepaald moment tussen sommige staten kunnen voordoen”.

3. “Jarenlang hebben de Amerikanen geprobeerd om van Puerto Rico een spiegel van de hybride cultuur te maken; het spreekt Spaans met verbuigingen in het Engels, het spreekt Spaans met scharnieren op zijn rug om te buigen voor de Yankee soldaat.

4. “Onze vrije ogen staan vandaag open voor nieuwe horizonten en zijn in staat om te zien wat onze toestand als koloniale slaven ons gisteren heeft belet te zien; dat de “westerse beschaving” onder haar kleurrijke façade een beeld van hyena’s en jakhalzen verbergt.

5. “Wij spreken onze instemming uit met een algemene en volledige ontwapening; wij pleiten bovendien voor de totale vernietiging van thermonucleaire apparaten. Er zijn nieuwe atoommachten in de wereld; de mogelijkheden van een confrontatie groeien.”

6. “De territoriale integriteit van de naties moet worden gerespecteerd en de gewapende arm van het imperialisme moet worden gestopt, niet minder gevaarlijk omdat deze alleen conventionele wapens gebruikt.

7. “Onlangs heeft de regering van de Verenigde Staten ook de verkoop van geneesmiddelen aan Cuba verboden, waardoor het masker van het humanisme waarmee zij het agressieve karakter van de blokkade tegen het Cubaanse volk probeerde te verbergen, voor eens en altijd is verdwenen.

8. “Zolang de economisch afhankelijke volkeren zich niet bevrijden van de kapitalistische markten en in een stevig blok met de socialistische landen onze betrekkingen tussen de uitbuiters en de uitgebuitenen opdringen, zal er geen sprake zijn van een solide economische ontwikkeling.

9. “De Verenigde Staten komen wel tussenbeide; zij hebben dat historisch gezien in Amerika gedaan. Cuba kent deze waarheid al sinds het einde van de vorige eeuw, maar ook Colombia, Venezuela, Nicaragua en Midden-Amerika in het algemeen, Mexico, Haïti en Santo Domingo kennen haar.

10. “De dag zal komen waarop deze Vergadering nog volwassener zal worden en van de Amerikaanse regering garanties zal eisen voor het leven van de zwarte en Latijns-Amerikaanse bevolking die in dit land leeft, voor het merendeel Amerikanen van oorsprong of adoptie”.

Press Release of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba to the Kingdom of the Netherlands

! We Have Memory! Cuba does not forget the long history of terrorism against its people.

The Hague, October 6, 2020. The members of the Cuban Mission to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, united with its people, commemorate the Day of the Victims of State Terrorism in the Republic of Cuba, as a tribute to the martyrs of the Crime of Barbados.

Every October 6th, is immortalized  the memory of the terrorist attack perpetrated in 1976 when the CU-455 aircraft of Cubana de Aviación was blown up in mid-flight, where the 73 persons on board, including the members of the Island’s youth fencing team, died. That brutal act of terrorism was conceived and executed by agents of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), in accordance with the many pieces of evidence made known over the years.

The notorious and confessed terrorist of the Western Hemisphere, Luis Posada Carriles, one of the main intellectual authors of the brutal act aforementioned, enjoyed impunity throughout his life, in the territory of the United States, thanks to the complicity of the government of that country, which confirms his double standards in his anti-terrorist rhetoric throughout history.  

The machine-gunning perpetrated against the venue of the Cuban Embassy in the US on April 30th, where more than 30 bullet impacts were discharged against the Cuban headquarters with an assault rifle and with the intention of killing, has not, up to now, been recognized as a terrorist attack, by the government of that country.

We demand that the terrorist and criminal nature of this execrable act be recognized and publicly denounced and that the US government share with the Cuban authorities all the information about this attack, and that measures be taken to prevent the repetition of attacks such as these, the opposite of this amounts to complicit and suspicious silence and tolerance of terrorism. Cuba has the moral authority to label as spurious the unilateral and illegal lists of the US State Department, which include countries for allegedly not cooperating with the anti-terrorist efforts of that government, while tolerating in its territory the commission of terrorist acts. There is concrete evidence of Cuba’s bilateral collaboration with the United States in the fight against terrorism and in joint law enforcement efforts.

Cuba, a country that has suffered terrorist attacks for more than 60 years, condemns all terrorist acts in all its forms and manifestations, by whomever and wherever they are committed, including those in which States are directly or indirectly involved.

Today, the Cuban Mission does not forget the 3478 Cubans who have lost their lives as victims of these acts and another 2099 that are suffering or have suffered some kind of disability. Glory to all the martyrs of the Homeland!

The solidarity with Cuba was present in the Dutch city of The Hague this Sunday

The solidarity with Cuba was present in the Dutch city of The Hague this Sunday (September, 30) in the stand of Willem Veldhoven the founder of Holanda ProCuba (Foundation). The friend Guillermo as all Cubans call him, for more than 20 years has carried out a beautiful work of solidarity towards Cuba and this Sunday was present in the Fair held in the city with promotional material about Cuba.

In the stand of Guillermo visitors can find information of the recent donation sent in a container to Cuba to help facing the COVID-19; video and audio materials produced by Holanda ProCuba (www.holandaprocuba.nl) on the figures of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro and Commander Ernesto Che Guevara available in DVD format, as well as material on the promotion of Heberprot-P, and different projects he have supported in particular in the eastern region of Cuba.

Officials from the Cuban Diplomatic mission and the Consulate visited the stand and reiterated their appreciation to Guillermo for his solidarity and love for Cuba as well as the value of the work carried out by Holland Pro Cuba in providing an objective image of Cuban reality and its achievements.

Cuba feels proud to have friends like Guillermo that speaks about our island with passion!!

Op vrijdag 21 augustus 2020, brachten we een bezoek aan de Cubaanse Ambassade, op het Nieuwe adres, Koninginnegracht 37 Den Haag, waar sinds kort ook de Cubaanse Consulaat is Gevestigd.

Dit om hernieuwde kennis te maken met de ambassadeur: Sra. Soraya Elena Álvarez Nuñéz en haar nieuwe assistente Sra. Yadira Ledesma Hernández.
Willem Veldhoven, namens Stichting Holanda Pro Cuba, was er samen met F. M. Freyre H, namens Cubaanse Vereniging in Nederlands (Asociación de Cubanos en Holanda), en Taak Force Humanitaire Hulp voor Cuba.
Het gesprek ging over de plannen van de Stichting Holanda Pro Cuba voor het jaar 2021, en zijde lijn over geslaagde actie van de 20 food vol met medische artikelen die onderweg naar Cuba is
Namens Stichting Holanda Pro Cuba legde Willem Veldhoven zijn plan 2021 uit :
Het plan houd in het maken van een film-rapportage onder het titel “Stop Nu, de onmenselijke blokkade tegen Cuba”, en het verbeteren van de levensomstandigheden van individuen.
Aan het script van de film wordt nu gewerkt en begin volgende jaar zal worden opgenomen met vrienden in het Oost van Cuba, in Holguin en las Tunas.
Een historisch overzicht van wanneer de blokkade is begonnen met archief materiaal vanaf Internet en TV, en beeld materiaal opgenomen in Cuba.
De verscherpte en criminele blokkade, sinds Trump aan de macht is en de gevolgen hiervan op het dagelijkse leven van heel de Cubaanse bevolking.
Wat kunnen wij hier in Europa en speciaal in Holanda doen om de Onmenselijke blokkade van 60 jaar, onrechtmatig opgelegd door de Verenigde Staten van Amerika en al jarenlang veroordeeld door de groots mogelijke meerderheid in de Verenigde Naties. (laatste stemming: Alleen de VS, Israël en Brazilië stemde tegen de motie van afkeuring).
Tevens willen we in de leven omstandigheden het huis van Oly te verbeteren. Oly is een invalide vrouw (al 18 jaar) in Las Tunas. In haar huis gaan wij een douche en wc maken.
In het verleden hebben we hier twee kamers gerealiseerd, zodat haar kinderen bij haar bleven om hun moeder te verzorgen.
Ook willen we in het huis van Carlito, (trompettist zonder arm) in Las Tunas, waar hij met toestemming en licentie een kleine opnamestudio voor muziek opnamen heeft gemaakt en mede door stichting Holanda Pro Cuba is ingericht, deze verder helpen te ontwikkelen door de kleine studio enkele meter groter te maken.
De ambassade was erg blij met dit initiatief en beloofde hieraan haar medewerking te verlenen, door samen met het consulaat contact hierover op te nemen met het Ministerie van Cultuur en Informatie te Havana, om toestemming te vragen voor dit genoemde project-documentaire: “Stop Nu, de onmenselijke blokkade tegen Cuba”. Te realiseren.

Over de container, een belangrijk humanitaire initiatief.
Diverse organisaties en veel personen hebben hier aan mee geholpen, onder anderen Stichting Remedie (Leiden) Stichting Medic (Apeldoorn), Stichting Holanda Pro Cuba, Toeristisch Bureau Mi Cuba (Amsterdam), Cubaanse Vereniging van België en England, en ook met de ondersteuning van de Cubaanse ambassade van Netherlands, België en England. De container is volgeladen met medische artikelen en sommige apparatuur. Stichting Holanda Pro Cuba, heeft 150 grote emmers voor de container geleverd en geholpen met het leggen van contacten en goederen ophalen en naar de container in Moerdijk brengen.
Dit alles ter bestrijding van de Cvid-19-pandemie op Cuba. De organisator Freyre en Jorge hebben hier erg veel tijd ingestoken en bedankte een ieder die dit project hebben mogelijk gemaakt.

Met een warm en optimistisch gevoel namen Freyre en Willem afscheid van Soraya en Yadira, en beloofde elkaar op de hoogte te houden van de verdere ontwikkelingen, want Cuba maakt op dit moment een grote economische crises door, wat vooral wordt veroorzaakt door de politiek, welke door Trump en zijn aanhangers, wordt gevoerd tegen Cuba en de Corona Virus.

Kwamen er in de periode Obama 800.000 Amerikaanse toeristen per jaar op bezoek in Cuba, sinds Trump aan de macht is, mag er geen toerist meer vanuit de VS, rechtstreeks naar Cuba, een ramp voor de economie en het toerisme.
Door de Corona Virus, welke op Cuba door haar goede gezondheid zorg, goed onder Controle is , kunnen er nu al 5 maanden ook geen Europese Toeristen naar Cuba, dit voor de bescherming van de Cubaanse bevolking.
Daarom blijft het van belang om Cuba te blijven steunen en solidair te zijn en te blijven met De Cubaanse bevolking en zijn verworvenheden van de Cubaanse Revolutie.

Visita a la embajada de Cuba el 21 de agosto de 2020 para el sitio web.
 
El viernes 21 de agosto de 2020 visitamos la Embajada de Cuba, en la dirección de Nieuwe Koninginnegracht 37 La Haya, donde recientemente se instaló el Consulado de Cuba.
 
El objetivo de la visita era el reencuentro con la embajadora: Sra. Soraya Elena Álvarez Nuñéz y la introduccion de su nueva asistente Sra. Yadira Ledesma Hernández.
Willem Veldhoven, en representación de la Fundación Holanda Pro Cuba, estuvo presente junto con F. M. Freyre H, en representación de la Asociación de Cubanos en Holanda, y Task Force Humanitarian Aid for Cuba.
 
Hablamos de los planes de la Fundación Holanda Pro Cuba para el año 2021, y también de la iniciativa exitosa del contenedor con productos de asistencia medica, que está en camino a Cuba.
 
En nombre de la Fundación Holanda Pro Cuba, Willem Veldhoven explicó su plan para 2021:
 
El plan consiste en realizar un reportaje cinematográfico titulado “Que pare ya el bloqueo inhumano contra Cuba” y diferentes proyectos individuales para mejorar las condiciones de vida de gente en la región.
 
La película está ahora en guión y se filmará a principios del próximo año con amigos en el este de Cuba, en Holguín y las Tunas. Se dará un repaso histórico del inicio del bloqueo con material de archivo de Internet, televisión, y material visual grabado en Cuba.
 
Conozca la historia del bloqueo a traves de documentación de los archivos de Internet y material de la Televisón Cubana. 
 
Desde que Trump llegó al poder el bloqueo criminal endureció, con consecuencias graves para la vida diaria del pueblo cubano. 
 
¿Qué podemos hacer aquí en Europa y en especial en Holanda, para combatir el bloqueo inhumano de 60 años, que fue impuesto ilegalmente por los Estados Unidos y ha sido condenado durante años por una gran mayoría en las Naciones Unidas (última votación: sólo EE.UU., Israel y Brasil votaron en contra de la moción)?
 
Nuestra organización quisiera construír una ducha y un baño en la casa de Oly, una mujer discapacitada (desde hace 18 años) en Las Tunas, donde vive frente a La Feria. En el pasado realizamos dos habitaciones en su hogar, para que sus hijos puedan vivir con ella para cuidar a su madre. 
 
También nos gustaría ayudar en la casa de Carlito, (un trompetista que perdió brazo) en Las Tunas, donde ha realizado un pequeño estudio de musica para grabaciones musicales con permiso y licencia que fue creada en parte por la fundación Holanda Pro Cuba. Una gran ayuda para el sería desarrollar el estudio un poco más a través de una elaboración del espacio disponible. 
 
La embajada se mostró muy agradecida por esta iniciativa y se comprometió a colaborar en ella, contactando al Ministerio de Cultura e Información en La Habana, junto con el consulado, para solicitar permiso para que este documental de realice: “Que PARE YA el bloqueo inhumano contra Cuba!”. 
 
 
Sobre el contenedor, una importante iniciativa humanitaria.
 
A este proyecto han contribuido varias organizaciones y individuos, entre ellas la Fundación Remedie (Leiden), la Fundación Medic (Apeldoorn), la Fundación Holanda Pro Cuba, la Oficina de Turismo Mi Cuba (Ámsterdam), la Asociación Cubana de Bélgica e Inglaterra, y también con el apoyo de la embajada cubana de Holanda, Bélgica e Inglaterra. El contenedor está cargado con materiales y herramientas médicas. La Fundación Holanda Pro Cuba suministro 150 cubos grandes para el contenedor y organizo gran parte de la logística para que todo se lleve al contenedor en Moerdijk.
 
Todo esto para combatir la pandemia del Covid-19 en Cuba. El organizador Freyre y Jorge han dedicado mucho tiempo a esto y agradecieron a todos los que hicieron posible este proyecto.
 
Con un sentimiento afectuoso y optimista, Freyre y Willem se despidieron de Soraya y Yadira. Todos se comprometieron a mantenerse informados de nuevos desarrollos, tomando en cuenta la crisis económicas que afecta a Cuba, causada principalmente por la política deTrump y sus partidarios en engravecida por el Corona virus.
 
Durante el período de Obama, 800.000 turistas estadounidenses al año venían a visitar Cuba. Desde que Trump llego al poder, no se permiten turistas de Estados Unidos directamente a Cuba; un desastre para la economía y el turismo.
 
Aunque el virus está bien controlado en Cuba debido a su buena salud, los turistas europeos no han podido visitar a Cuba desde hace 5 meses, para la protección de la población cubana.
 
Por eso el apoyo a Cuba sigue siendo importante, igual como el sentimiento de solidaridad con el pueblo cubano y la Revolución Cubana.

This July 26th all Cubans commemorate the Day of National Rebellion.

This year we commemorate the 67th anniversary of the Assault on the Moncada Barracks led by the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
Due to the challenges imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, unfortunately we will not be able to hold the traditional meeting of friends of Cuba at our Embassy to celebrate this historic date.
